My name is Simon Forbes, I'm and amateur photographer living in a small town in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. I love to take photos as a hobby.
I recently got into photography after having a play with my brothers camera. I've found that I really enjoy taking photos and the like and already have some stunning shots. As I'm only young I don't have a massive collection of images yet.
I enjoy photography because I get the opportunity to capture a tiny moment in time, sometimes too small to see, and preserve it. I also enjoy playing with focus, either down a long object or seeing what effect blurring of certain fields can have on a picture. As a result I enjoy taking photos of things like insects, animals, landscapes and people. Sometimes together.
My main sources of inspiration are my brother and what I see around me, so a lot of my photos are a result of seeing something that I felt would make a good photo, and taking it. The result is almost always less than perfect, but, usually I will get one perfect shot, making the whole session worth it. My photos consist usually of things you see every day, but in an interesting way, but occasionally I might go out to find something different in a different location to capture.
That was me, if you think you might like to purchase a photo or just have a look you can find my photos under the 'My photos' section. I hope you enjoy looking at what I have already.
